Welcome to the first week in May.

We hope that you have managed to have a restful weekend. Here is an update on our Home Learning strategy including expectations. As previously highlighted, it is very important that you adopt a system that supports you and your family throughout these unsettling and challenging times. Should you need any support, then please do not hesitate to contact us by calling the school or emailing us at info@oxfordgardens.rbkc.sch.uk . A member of our team will ensure that you are offered appropriate support and information.

Thank you so much to parents who have e mailed in to tell us of all of their positive experiences with Seesaw and also using the learning grids https://oxfordgardens.rbkc.sch.uk/curriculum/home-learning. We hope that you have been able to find a balance of activities that is right for you and your family.

As of last week, on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday, teachers will upload new learning for children at 9am. On each of these days, you will find 1 Reading/phonics, 1 Literacy, 1 Maths and 1 other subject (for example RE, PE, IPC).  In an ideal world, your child would have the opportunity to complete all of these activities, over the next 2 days, at a pace that works for you and your family.

The grids are intended mostly for children who do not have access to a computer or ipad, but we know some families have also been using these alongside Seesaw, or instead of Seesaw in larger families.   Whatever works for your family, works for us.  As we have said in previous e mails, the most important thing is that you and your family look after your health and your mental health.  We want to be flexible with learning in a way that supports you and your children. So please keep doing what you’re doing – children are engaging really well with Seesaw and there have been a huge number of interactions between staff and children, which has been so lovely to see.

Hopefully, later this week, you will start to see some more familiar faces pop up on your children’s Seesaw accounts!

As always, let us know if there is anything that we can help or support you with.

Wishing everyone a good week.
