Home learning can play a positive role in raising a child’s level of attainment and rate of progress.  Children benefit greatly from the mutual support of parents/carers and teachers, in encouraging them to learn both at home and at school.  We see Home Learning as an important way of establishing a successful dialogue between teachers and parents/carers, in helping out children to become independent, successful learners.

The majority of our Home Learning is undertaken through our online learning platform, Seesaw.  Teachers will post Home Learning on here and links to other useful websites.  If you have difficulty accessing technology, please speak to us and we will do our best to support your family with this.

We ask that parents encourage their children to log onto Seesaw weekly and provide them with an appropriate place to do their Home Learning.  If this is not possible, or if your child’s needs it for any other reason, we have a weekly Home Learning club to support children.  Please book this through School Gateway.

We also ask that you read with your children daily (or ensure that they read to themselves if they are older and would prefer it) and sign their reading diaries.  For additional ways to support your child with Reading at home, please see our Reading page.

For more information on Home Learning, please see our Home Learning policy.
