'Hello Oxford Gardens' and a Home Learning Update

As we head towards Friday, and the end of what has been an unprecedented week, we just wanted to send thanks to everyone in our community for all your support and understanding at a time when we have had to make unthinkable organisational changes. You have made this manageable, and we really appreciate the trust that you have shown by supporting the major decisions that we have made and been directed to follow, throughout a very short space of time.

The school has been very quiet this week as we remain open providing a service to those Government identified key groups. Classrooms that are normally a hive of activity are still and empty. It is important for you to know that we are thinking of everyone at this difficult and concerning time. Stay strong and please look forward to the time when our gates will be open again and we will be sharing happy times together.

Home Learning Update

IMPORTANT - You're not expected to become teachers and your children aren't expected to learn as they do in school. Simply providing your children with some structure at home will help them to adapt. Click here for guidance and ideas on how this can work in your home.

Last week, we sent you a list of websites, including lgfl, which your children could use to access learning whilst at home.  This was intended as several ongoing ideas, to keep you going until we were able to judge whether school was going to close and how best to move forward with Home Learning.  This is still an excellent list of resources and teachers changed each year group’s home page, so that they all had access to different and relevant learning.

In addition to this, now that we have  more certainty about the fact that school will be closed for the vast majority of pupils for a significant period, we have made plans for how to support your child with their learning from home.

We will be in touch, via e mail and on the school website, by the end of this week, with weekly resources for each year group. These will continue over the Easter holidays, so you will be able to keep some sort of structure, should you wish, during a time when we will all be spending a lot of time indoors.

For this week, please continue with the list of online learning that you have been given, make sure that continue to read every day and access TT Rockstars and My Book Blog (KS2) and we will be in touch shortly.

Finally, we are sharing these animations that Year 6 made last week in the style of Charlie Maksey to spread love and kindness into the community. Please watch.

Endless thanks for your ongoing support and partnership. We will get through this together.
