We are at the end of what has been a very busy first half term in the Summer Term. Both Year 6 and Year 2 have been working exceptionally hard, and have completed their SATs. We are so very proud of them all for showing the resilience and determination to be the very best they can be. Well Done.

We are pleased to announce that in June, we have Dominika Cieslar, an Early Help Practitioner, who will be working in school to support parents and children. This role will create a space for parents to discuss concerns they may be having, with Dominika offering support, practical advice, guidance and information. Dominika will be in school on Tuesdays.

All families will face difficulties at certain times. Being a parent is the most rewarding and challenging job you will ever face. We hope this role will offer families support promptly so they can build on their strengths, acquire new skills and find solutions.

This could include:

-           Parenting Techniques,

-           Wellbeing support,

-           Support to increase school attendance,

-           Support with a child behaviour concerns

-           Building your confidence

-           Supporting school transition

-           Identifying and supporting young carers

I am sure that you would like to join me in welcoming Dominika to our school and I very much hope that you will get to know her and use the support available.

So, half term next week, and we hope that everyone enjoys special time with family and friends and manages to get some rest. Next half term is going to be extremely busy with plenty of learning, special events, festivals, end of year assessments and preparations for September 2019. We shall also be saying some sad farewells, so there will be plenty of opportunities for you to finish the year well and build positive endings filled with happy memories.

Finally, I know that we are approaching the Grenfell two year anniversary, and I wanted to reassure you that we have plans for the day which will focus on remembering those who died and supporting all those affected. We will be organising a community day similar to the one we held last year, and everyone will be invited to attend and wear Green for Grenfell. It is important that you know we will continue to be here for you throughout the anniversary period. Details will be distributed after half term.

We look forward to welcoming everyone back on Monday 3rd June 2019.
