Thank you so much for a wonderful start to the school year.

It has been amazing to welcome you all back and see the children looking so happy ‘flying’ through the gates ! Everyone is settling so well and we are so grateful to you for preparing the children so well.

Once again, we would like to apologise for the delayed opening of the school due to the Summer building works. The alterations which have taken place will mean that we have dedicated areas for community events and meetings, a new school office with entrance area, as well as substantial renovations to the top floor of the building where we have an ICT suite, music room, group teaching room and a third Year 6 classroom all with interactive teaching panels. Once everything is complete and the rooms are fully functional, we will upload a few images so that you can see how everything has been changed.

Over the next couple of weeks we have scheduled in our Meet the Teacher meetings and are delighted that we can finally invite you back into the school. These events are general, and are an opportunity for all parents to understand more about what your child will be learning and what a school day ‘looks like’.  The teachers will also go through things such as the class timetable, behaviour expectations, home learning, the curriculum and other important information.

To ensure social distancing and to keep numbers of adults in the building to a minimum, we will run each year group event twice. You will have received a letter with all the details and a returnable slip to secure your place so please ensure that these are returned as soon as possible.

As it is the beginning of the school year and there have been so many changes, there may still be a few things that we alter to ensure that our systems and routines work as smoothly as possible. The best solutions always take a while to find, so we are incredibly appreciative for your endless co-operation and understanding.

Have a good weekend and we look forward to welcoming you all once again on Monday for our first full week of the school year.
