Friday update

It was wonderful to welcome so many of you last Friday to collect your craft packs and cream tea parcels. We really hope that this helped to support you over the weekend with the third Grenfell Anniversary. We have had some wonderful photographs of your collages on the theme of Unity. PLEASE keep sending them in as we plan to make a large display and install this in the main building. Email them over to info@oxfordgardens.rbkc.sch.uk

Please remember to contact us if there is anything that we can do to support you further with your home learning programme.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 Reading Books.

For children in the youngest year groups, it is really important that they continue to read for 10-20 minutes per day.  This can be sharing a story that you read to them, but we would also like children to practice their own reading skills and in order to do this, they need specific phonics books matched to their current reading level.

We will be setting up a Phonics Book Library on Fridays from 11-12 at the back gate, if you would like to come and borrow some books, that are matched to your child’s level.  Each week, you can take 3 books home to read and then return them the following Friday.  These books will then be quarantined for 72 hours to ensure that they are ready for use the following week.  Please e mail or call the office if you think you would like to come and collect some books, so that we can make sure we have packs ready.

Finally, the Foundation Stage renovation has started well. The building has been stripped and is now ready for all the works to begin. When finished, the new building will house Year 1, Reception and Nursery children. We are all very excited and will keep you updated as the project develops.
