The annual school fair took place last Saturday and despite the FOGS (Friends of Oxford Gardens School) committee having to postpone the event to the Autumn Term the day was a huge success.  It was really lovely to see so many families come along.  We welcomed current families at the school through the gates but it was also lovely to catch up with some of our families who have now left the school and also lots of other members of the community who haven’t been into the school before and were able to see what a friendly and welcoming school community we have.

The school really cannot thank the members of FOGS enough for organising the event.  There was a lot of activities ranging from –arts and crafts; tennis; tombola; hair braiding; manicures; face painting; henna; a wishing-tree; sumo wrestling; bouncy castle; puppet shoes; a story teller and lots more.  The day would not have been such a success without the help of parents who kindly gave up their time to help on stalls and also many of the staff who also gave up their Saturday to run stalls.  A special thank you goes to Liz Shaw, Sharon Lally-Edson; Lucille Findlay and Carolyn Khoush-Peyman for the enormous amount of dedication and hard work they put in to making the event such a success.

For those of you who came along you will have seen that we had large amounts of delicious food. Thank you to the parents who made and served some delicious food and also to the amazing Bread and Honey.  They very kindly donated enough food for 200 people.  They are a catering company based in Kensal Rise and following the Grenfell Tower Tragedy made contact with us and have shown the school the most wonderful generosity – we are hugely grateful to them.

As always the fair was sponsored by Mount Grange Heritage who are always so incredibly supportive of Oxford Gardens – not only did they sponsor the fair and organise the posters and banner but they also came along and ran some of the stalls.

We are still in the process of calculating the amount of money raised from the fair and will let you know once it has all been counted.

FOGS are always looking for people to help with the organisation and running of fund raising events held at school – if you are able to help out please do come along to the next FOGS meeting which is likely to be in the Spring Term.
