In IPC we have been learning all about toys! We have compared toys from the past with toys today, considered what toys are like in Thailand and had a go at designing, making and evaluating our own toy designs! We also made some fantastic sock puppets and enjoyed sharing our projects with one another.
In Literacy this week we have been learning how to write instructions. We have linked this with our IPC topic by writing instructions for the Nursery children so they can make their own sock puppets. We thought really carefully about how to make our instructions clear and precise and we included lots of time connectives, imperative verbs and even some adverbs!
In Maths we are learning about place value and partitioning numbers into tens and ones. We have also been practising how to count in tens, twos and fives and we have been using lots of concrete manipulatives to help us understand number. We especially enjoyed using dienes!
We can’t wait for our trip to Fulham Palace on Wednesday and Thursday! Come and support us at the Year One bake sale at 3:30pm on Tuesday 23rd January.
