Goblin class has really enjoyed our first term!
We have loved our IPC topics particularly the trips we have been lucky enough to go on. We explored Westminster Abbey recently and found out so much about Britain’s royalty. We even made our own decorations whilst there, it was amazing. We also went on a trip to see a Pantomime and went to the Wonderlab to explore. We have had such fun and learnt some much from these experiences it has been fantastic.
In maths, we have studied a wide range of topics this term. These have included number, measurement, addition and subtraction and multiplication and division. We have recently been looking at the relationship between multiplication and division. We have practised using a range of methods to solve both multiplication and division problems. As a class we particularly enjoyed using the circle method for division and the arrays method for multiplication.
In literacy, we have learnt so many skills this term. We have made our writing more interesting by adding expanded noun phrases, alliter ation, similes and turning our simple sentences into compound sentences through the use of conjunctions. This week we have been using these skills to write our own versions of the story ‘Where the Wild Things are’.
We have had a wonderful Autumn half term and cannot wait for all the adventures Spring term has in store for us.
Have a delightful holiday and a prosperous new year.
